I challenged myself by using Christian Science for everything… not just when I’m in hot water.
At camp, I always learn who I can be at my best. It reminds me of the best qualities in all of us, and makes me excited about expressing them to the rest of the world.
This year we are running our Junior and Senior programs concurrently. Campers will be split periodically throughout the session into Junior and Senior groups to take part in age-appropriate activities.
Senior Boys and Senior Girls learn to be supportive of one another while trying out the ropes course, going rock climbing, paddling Camp’s Big Red Canoe, sailing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and playing camp-wide games. While these activities bring in the fun, our focus is always in helping campers grow in new bounds– spiritually, mentally and physically. Senior campers learn responsibility and leadership skills based on spiritual values, creativity and teamwork. Senior campers take an out-trip to a great destination in our backyard of Howe Sound—the trip can include hiking, a boating adventure, mountain biking, surfing, horseback riding, ziplining, or some other exciting multi-day trip off island.
Each morning, Senior campers study the Christian Science Bible Lesson, and join the rest of camp in midweek testimony meetings and Sunday School at Camp.

I learned that I am capable of much more than I thought I was.
Each year, Camp offers a special Skills program in addition to the regular two-week Senior Boys and Senior Girls sessions. Senior Skills Campers are encouraged to stay for the regular two-week Senior sessions, particularly if they’re new to camp. The skill(s) of the summer vary from year to year depending on the interest of the participants and the availability of special staff members who are highly proficient in their fields of expertise.
For our 2022 Summer, we'll be heading to Tofino, Canada's surf capital, to hike in old growth forest, play on the beach, and surf! Perfect for those who have never been on a board before and for those looking to improve their skills.
If you have questions or need more info on the Skills Week programs, you can contact camp@bowisle.ca or phone us toll-free at 877-943-2442.
